History
The company was founded in 1966 as a Screen Process
Printer by its current joint Managing Directors Lascelle Barrow
and Barrie Dix.
A product and service lead philosophy combined with commitment
to invest saw a sustained and strong growth. This included pioneering
the introduction of UV drying inks into the UK with all its attendant
environmental benefits.
During the 70's and 80's new and ever more productive plant and
equipment was brought on-stream challenging the traditional production
methods and investment philosophy of the industry.
The vision of building Europe's largest purpose built Screen printing
complex was fulfilled in 1990 when HRH The Prince Edward opened
Augustus Martin's new headquarters in London's docklands area.
At the same time, a substantial land-bank was acquired for future
growth.
Over the coming years, this foresight provided the scope for the
introduction of Lithographic and Digital printing, Warehousing
and all other major Pre and Post production functions. This included
the establishment of on-site ink manufacture which provided the
springboard for the development of special effect inks and coatings.
This all-encompassing production capability has gone hand in hand
with the development of core management skills to provide the
fullest range of client services.
